Barona

Barona

Alto Alentejo

Founded in 2015 by three partners who grew up in Castelo de Vide, who used the first letters of their last name to create the brand. Barrigas, Roque e Nabo – BARONA.

The experience in producing craft beer coupled with the eager desire to learn and research demanded the next step, the professionalization of the business and the creation of a microbrewery with facilities in Marvão, in the heart of the Alto Alentejo.

Every effort has been made to make Cerveja BARONA the best craft beer in the Alentejo while achieving national recognition in the reference craft beer market.

The awards received so far are more than a seal of quality for BARONA beers, they are recognition of all the work and commitment that the team has developed in order to continue to respond responsibly and sustainably to the requirements of our customers, which are increasingly demanding.

The challenge of BARONA beer remains: “Break out of old habits and take a look at the world of brewing that goes beyond the industrial world.”

Brejinho da Costa

Brejinho da Costa

Extremadura

From Portugal, surrounded by the sea, rises a vast frontier, a platform for wonder and discovery. This is the old ocean. From here half the world and almost as much more was explored, with men and ships the daring protagonists of adventures that challenged myths and wrote heroic tales that still inspire us today. The Atlantic Ocean remains mysterious and changeable. Exceptional wines are produced in a geographical region that is unique in the world. Just as there are wines from valleys and volcanic zones, only Quinta do Brejinho can claim to be a creator of Atlantic wines.

Our winemaker believes...

As a family business, we naturally think long-term. We know that our ability to produce wine for many years to come depends on a stable climate and a healthy ecosystem. And the future of our company depends on the strength and resilience of our local communities and our people. Oenology is a way of life that focuses on contact with nature and the love of work. The philosophy of minimal intervention also extends to the winery, where small batches of grapes are carefully processed using the most modern technology, a simple, sustainable enology to obtain healthier, more perfect wines while respecting our environment. "Wine is made in the vineyard"...

Codego Wines

Codego Wines

Dao

Código Wine comes from the Serra da Estrela subregion in the Dão - one of the oldest and most independent wine regions in Portugal. Behind the project is oenologist Tiago Macena, who reinterprets the Dão's indigenous grape varieties: Encruzado, Bical, Uva Cão, Touriga Nacional - each bottle is an independent expression of the area, vinified in oak barrels and traditional clay amphoras.

The name says it all: Código – secret code. Macena decodes what the vines and terroir of the Serra da Estrela have to say. The result is wines with character and depth, far from uniform international tastes.

Quatro Cravos

Quatro Cravos

Beira Literary

In the Bairrada wine-growing region, known for its excellent sparkling wines, the Quatro Cravos company owns two wineries, Adega Cravo and Adega Original, which produce DOC wines from Bairrada and IGP wines from Beira Atlântico.

The still and sparkling wines produced here will surprise you because their quality is the result of combining a rich heritage of traditional methods with the most modern technology.

The first wine was made in Adega Cravo in 1911. For more than a hundred years, from generation to generation, the family has maintained the tradition of winemaking.

With the construction of the Adega Original and the acquisition of land to plant new vineyards, the limited capacity of the centuries-old Adega Cravo was overcome, allowing it to grow in size and consistency in the production of high quality still and sparkling wines. Adega Original stands for the idea of something new, pure, authentic, modern and real Bairradino. The identity of Adeg is based on the concept of the word origin, which means the beginning, the root of what exists, the starting point.

Quinta Alta

Quinta Alta

Douro

A new force in the Douro tradition.

Quinta Alta's QALT and Zuccaro wines are the realization of the dream of Fernanda Zuccaro, who left Brazil in November 2016 to become a wine producer of Douro wines.

Fernanda, in charge of the company, was not intimidated by the harshness of the Douro. On the contrary, she was enchanted and seduced by the strength and magic of a land that only the strong can resist.

Quinta Alta harvests and vinifies the grapes from its two properties: Quinta da Longra in Moura Morta in Baixo-Corgo, overlooking the Marão, where the white and rosé wines come from, and Quinta Alta dos Álamos in Ervedosa do Douro, in Cima-Corgo, where the red wines are made.

Quinta de S. Salvador da Torre

DOC Vinho Verde

The Quinta de S. Salvador da Torre is located in the Vale do Lima, municipality of Viana do Castelo, on the right bank of the Rio Lima, just 10 km from the Atlantic Ocean, with the Serra de Arga on the horizon. The estate, which is over 400 years old, covers 37 hectares, of which 30 hectares are vineyards with the Loureiro and Alvarinho varieties. The proximity to the coast and the layered granite and slate soils shape the character of the wines.

The origins of Quinta date back to the Middle Ages: originally part of the Benedictine monastery of San Salvador da Torre, it received a charter of liberties from D. Afonso Henriques in 1129. For almost 400 years, the estate belonged to the Rocha Brandão family, who built the manor house and chapel in the 17th century. After several changes of ownership in the 20th century (u.a. (Soya de Portugal from 1980) the Granvinhos Group acquired Quinta in 2023.

The agricultural management is carried out in partnership with the renowned oenologist Anselmo Mendes, together with Jorge Dias - the realization of a long-held joint project between the two, who share a 30-year friendship. The aim is to develop the potential of the Loureiro grape variety and establish the Quinta as a reference for Vinho Verde - with a focus on quality, ecological sustainability and the enhancement of land and heritage. The Loureiro vines grow on the highest terraces of the estate (approx. 30 m high), exposed to the south and cooled by the Atlantic breeze - this creates complex, elegant and storable wines.

Quinta dos Loivos

Quinta dos Loivos

Douro

Quinta dos Loivos lies at around 500 meters altitude, hidden between the slopes of the Douro, with a wide panoramic view over the valley. The vines are over 80 years old and embedded in steep slate terraces (xisto) - they produce little yield, but produce grapes of exceptional concentration. Three plots with different solar orientations - Nascente (East), Sul (South) and Poente (West) - characterize the eponymous wine line Quinta dos Loivos and show how light, soil and time make the same place speak in three different ways.

The winery also runs the Venera line - a homage to the Douro, which exclusively processes indigenous grape varieties from old vines, from the DOC base wines to the Reserva and Grande Reserva bottlings.

Adriana Covas (Enóloga Residente) and Jorge Alves (Enólogo Consultor) are responsible for winemaking. The rest of the Quinta team – including Bruno Simões (Business Developer), André Almeida (Direção Marketing & Sales) and Ana Mota (Operations Management) – combines many years of experience in viticulture and wine tourism in the Douro.

Paulo from Vall'doAido personally visited the Quinta and met the Quinta dos Loivos team on site - together with their own wines in their hands, a sign of the close and personal partnership between the Douro winery and Vall'doAido in Switzerland.

VolteFace

VolteFace

Alto Alentejo

VolteFace tells the story of Teresa Metelo Dias, who grew up in the vineyards but fell in love with psychoanalysis and earned a degree in psychology. However, early on she discovered a new passion - wine - and did not hesitate to re-enter the academic world and obtain a degree in agronomy engineering: this was in fact the first great volte of her life.

She then began her professional career in the world of wine and managed the 300 hectare family business until it was sold in 2012: the second big Volte face of her life. With no vines, no winery, no land and nothing to lose, she decided, “Let’s do something really loud.” She decided to start her own bold wine project in 2013.

The name of the brand was clear: VolteFace. The masked bottle came to her mind and it was held like a baby, raised like a queen, and borne like the sun into the world, to delight the brave and confuse the rest. The polemical packaging that everyone knows was created. In 2015, she acquired a 70 ha property in Valverde, Évora, Alentejo, where she planted 5 ha of vineyards with the following grape varieties: Alicante Bouschet (3 ha), Syrah (0.5 ha), Petit Verdot (0.5 ha), Antão Vaz (0.75 ha) and Arinto (0.25 ha). In addition to the cheekiness of the packaging, it relies on the traditional and typical grape varieties of the region, namely Alicante Bouschet for the red wines and Antão Vaz for the white wines.

The company's strategy is to exclusively bottle high-quality brands with predominantly indigenous grape varieties of the highest quality, which are characterized by a sophisticated, glamorous and irreverent packaging image.
