QALT TINTA BARROCA is Quinta Alta's first single varietal wine. Tinta Barroca was chosen to emphasise the importance of this grape variety in the Douro region.In the terroir where it is born, it has vigour and quality. VINIFICATION: Hand-harvested on September 23, 2022, in 20kg boxes. Manual selection on a sorting table. 30% fermented with whole clusters. Racking with aeration. Fermentation at controlled temperature. Six months aging in stainless steel tanks. Bottled on May 22, 2023.

STORAGE & SERVICE: Store at 12°C, serve at 14°C, and taste at 16°C
GASTRONOMY: Pairs with light seafood, fish, and chicken dishes. Vegetarian dishes as well. A wine for an aperitif and to shine at the table. Easy to drink and suited to the most discerning palates.

The QALT TINTA BARROCA offers a new interpretation of the wine’s value – the wine is the art within the bottle and beyond. A label should speak. Hence, we present a bold interpretation of the schist walls surrounding our estate in Ervedosa do Douro. We invited Brazilian street artist Kaur Art to create, within his artistic vision, the centuries-old schist walls of the Douro. The result is this. All colors evoke the hues of Baroque ink at different stages of the wine. A collaboration between designer Helena Lobo and Kaur Art – art reaches you through QALT TINTA BARROCA.
