Description

In the Douro, amidst extraordinary vineyards and a distinctive terroir, this Reserva Rosé is crafted for a discerning audience that values authenticity, complexity, and sophistication. From a meticulous selection of Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca, characterized by barrel aging that imparts structure, depth, and a rare seriousness for a rosé. After bottling, it matures for another year in the bottle – the final step of its creation. On the nose, it presents itself remarkably distinctive: between fruit, blossoms, and wood, it unfolds a unique, bold aroma. On the palate, complex and confident – between freshness, barrel notes, and fruit, serious and elegant, persistent and a true surprise for skeptics.

Oenologist
Adriana Covas Jorge Alves

Quinta dos Loivos lies at around 500 meters altitude, hidden between the slopes of the Douro, with a wide panoramic view over the valley. The vines are over 80 years old and embedded in steep slate terraces (xisto) - they produce little yield, but produce grapes of exceptional concentration. Three plots with different solar orientations - Nascente (East), Sul (South) and Poente (West) - characterize the eponymous wine line Quinta dos Loivos and show how light, soil and time make the same place speak in three different ways.

The winery also runs the Venera line - a homage to the Douro, which exclusively processes indigenous grape varieties from old vines, from the DOC base wines to the Reserva and Grande Reserva bottlings.

Adriana Covas (Enóloga Residente) and Jorge Alves (Enólogo Consultor) are responsible for winemaking. The rest of the Quinta team – including Bruno Simões (Business Developer), André Almeida (Direção Marketing & Sales) and Ana Mota (Operations Management) – combines many years of experience in viticulture and wine tourism in the Douro.

Paulo from Vall'doAido personally visited the Quinta and met the Quinta dos Loivos team on site - together with their own wines in their hands, a sign of the close and personal partnership between the Douro winery and Vall'doAido in Switzerland.
